Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information UnclaimedSite ("we", "us") collects through unclaimedsite.com and the websites we build and host, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email [email protected].

What we collect

• Public business information. To build a website for a local business before contacting it, we use information the business has already made public, such as its name, address, phone number, hours, services and photos.
• Claiming your site and checkout. When you claim your site, you check out on a payment page run by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us what we need to run your subscription: your name, email address, billing details you enter, and whether your trial and payments are active.
• Change requests. When you use our change form, we collect your business name, your site address, your email address, your plan, the type of change and the details you write. We store the request on our server and email it to our team, and we send you a confirmation email.
• Chat assistant. If you use the "Questions? Ask us" chat, we keep a log of the messages you send and our answers, with your IP address, so we can answer you, prevent abuse and improve the answers.
• Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include.
• Technical information. Like most websites, our servers record basic request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it to keep the site running and secure — for example, our forms limit how many submissions can come from one IP address.

How we use it

• To build, hand over, host and care for your website, and to make the changes you ask for.
• To run your subscription: start your free trial, bill you after it ends, and handle cancellations.
• To answer your questions and send you service emails about your site, your request or your account.
• To operate, secure and improve unclaimedsite.com.

We do not add you to a newsletter or use your information for unrelated marketing.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers who handle information for us, only to provide their service:

• Hosting. Our websites and form submissions are stored on servers we rent from a hosting provider.
• Payments. Stripe processes checkout, subscriptions and card payments. Stripe's own privacy policy covers the information you give it.
• Email delivery. Change requests and confirmation emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service, and our business email is hosted by an email provider.

Cookies and analytics

unclaimedsite.com does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and it does not currently run any analytics tool. The chat assistant does not set cookies. The Stripe checkout page is run by Stripe and may set its own cookies needed to process payment and prevent fraud. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy first.

We don't sell your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share it only with the providers above, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

How long we keep it

We keep account, billing and change-request records for as long as your site is active and afterward as needed for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Chat logs and server logs are kept for a limited time for support, security and troubleshooting.

Your choices

You can ask us to show, correct or delete the information you've given us by emailing [email protected]. If a demo site we built for your business hasn't been claimed, email us and we'll take it down on request.

Security

Our sites are served over HTTPS, and we limit access to submissions to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

UnclaimedSite is a service for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we do, we'll change the effective date above, and we'll note significant changes on this page.
